During this weeks field we were given talks on technology integration, thiw was devided into two talks with two different tutors with two different expericences and ideas on the subject.
Our first session was about arduino which in my opinion is extremely valuable whilst attempting to collaborate technology with everyday design ideas. I have never used arduino before, in being a BA student this isnt taught to me as its targeted more at the BSc students.
We were given several examples of how this was applicated in these talks and I was extremely impressed by an example given to us by the keynote speaker Ingrid Murphy who had used arduino to connect her fathers kettle to and her own kettle; this allowed Ingrid and her father both to enjoy a cup of tea at the same time.
This has once again made me think and re-think all of my designs carefully, and with all that I have learned I believe it could have several applications within my work.
